Job summary

Jefferson County is seeking a Road and Bridge Supervisor to oversee construction, maintenance, and snow removal for assigned shops. Responsibilities include supervising staff, reviewing plans, inspecting roads, and ensuring safety and policy compliance.

The role requires CDL, DOT medical card, and a minimum three years’ experience in road work or similar. The position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits, with a 4/4 schedule seasonally and shift changes throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in construction and/or road maintenance.
• Experience with heavy motorized equipment.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have a Valid Driver’s License for 2 consecutive years prior to hire date; Colorado license within 30 days if out of state.
• Must possess a valid Class B or A CDL with Air Brake restriction removed and a DOT medical card at hire.
• Tanker endorsement within 30 days of hire.
• Respond to emergencies and snow removal operations 24/7, report within one hour.
• Equivalent education/experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in development and implementation of division plans, policies and procedures.
• Receive and investigate complaints or inquiries from the public.
• Supervise and manage road and bridge maintenance activities and projects.
• Schedule work, ensure resources and monitor progress toward goals.
• Inspect projects, roads, and drainage structures for safety and plan adherence.
• Oversee snow and ice control operations and ensure safety standards.
• Manage PPE use and the Safety Management Program.
• Serve as Procurement Card Holder, and reconcile P-Card transactions.
• Respond to emergencies 24/7 and report to shop within one hour.
• Conduct staff supervision, performance evaluations and personnel decisions.
