Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a field inspection professional to perform certified inspections on state road and bridge projects. You will ensure contractor compliance with plans and standards, assist with construction inspections, and prepare routine reports and payment quantities.

Candidates must have a high school diploma with at least one year of related experience or an approved equivalence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Performs certified inspection work in at least two SCDOT disciplines, ensuring contractor compliance with plans, standards and specifications.
• Assists with inspection of road and bridge construction and compiles quantities for payment.
• Obtains and processes construction samples, performs field checks and tests, and interprets plans and specs.
• Prepares routine project reports and forms in a timely manner and performs related duties as assigned.
