Job summary

JMT is seeking Inspectors in South Carolina to apply standard inspection procedures on active roadway and bridge projects, ensuring quality, safety, and conformance to plans and specifications. The role involves field work, measurements, documentation, and adherence to DOT requirements.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and be eligible for SCDOT certifications within six months; experience in construction inspection is preferred. Travel within SC may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; may be substituted for experience.
• SCDOT certifications or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Client requested certifications preferred.
• Construction inspection experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods for compliance with laws and safety.
• Performs routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials.
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and pavement.
• Gathers and maintains record documents.
• Makes field notes and computations.
