Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Gene and Cell Therapy Institute seeks a motivated Process Development Scientist to translate RNA and LNP processes from bench to automated miniaturized manufacturing, aligning with ARPA-H GIVE program goals.

You will design experiments, optimize unit operations (DNA amplification, in vitro transcription, purification, LNP formulation), and collaborate with engineers to transfer technology and ensure robust processes.

Qualifications

• PhD with 3+ years in life sciences, process development, or biomanufacturing.
• Experience synthesizing and purifying RNA via in vitro transcription.
• Experience transferring biologics or nucleic acid unit operations.
• Strong problem-solving and data-recording skills.
• Experience with GMP-adjacent environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and characterize RNA and LNP unit operations for continuous manufacturing.
• Translate benchtop processes into miniaturized automated formats.
• Generate circular RNA, mRNA, and RNA-LNP drug products.
• Define critical parameters and conduct DoE studies.
• Maintain process documentation and quality records.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with partners.
• Possibly manage direct reports.
