Mass General Brigham Incorporated’s Gene and Cell Therapy Institute is seeking a Research Scientist to lead translation of RNA and LNP processes into a miniaturized, automated manufacturing platform in Cambridge, MA.

The role focuses on in vitro transcription, purification, and process characterization, with collaboration across engineering, chemistry, and analytics teams. A PhD plus 3+ years in life sciences is required, with onsite work 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

• PhD with 3+ years in a life sciences laboratory or biomanufacturing.
• Experience synthesizing and purifying RNA via in vitro transcription.
• Experience developing, optimizing, and transferring nucleic acid unit operations.
• Strong data recording, analysis, and reproducibility skills.
• Excellent communication and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and characterize RNA and LNP unit operations in vitro.
• Translate benchtop processes into automated, miniaturized formats with cross-functional teams.
• Define process parameters and in-process controls; conduct DOE studies.
• Prepare documentation and support technology transfer to engineering partners.
