Job summary

State of Washington, Washington Corrections Center in Shelton, WA, is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 (RN2) for a full-time, permanent position. The RN2 provides essential health services to incarcerated individuals, with evening/night shift differentials and a Monday through Thursday to Monday schedule.

Qualified candidates hold a WA RN license or compact license, with a minimum of one year of RN experience and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Current WA Registered Nurse license or valid compact license.
• At least 1 year of RN experience.
• AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
• Proficient with computer-based programs for scheduling, monitoring, and data entry; able to communicate via email.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing services promoting health, healing, and coping for incarcerated individuals.
• Screen, assess, and evaluate health conditions of inmates.
• Respond to health care requests promptly and clinically.
• Delegate and supervise nursing activities; coordinate patient care.
• Plan transitions and arrange follow-up when patients transfer or return to the community.
• Assist patients in improving self-care skills and involve families where appropriate.
