Job summary
Legacy Health Services in Parma, Ohio is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) wound nurse to assess, treat, and monitor residents with wounds and skin conditions. The role collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, and therapy teams to promote healing and prevent skin breakdown.
The ideal candidate holds an active RN license in Ohio, with at least one year of nursing experience, strong clinical assessment and documentation skills, and a commitment to regulatory compliance and quality
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of employment.
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and skin integrity management.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive wound and skin assessments upon admission and as clinically indicated.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized wound care treatment plans.
- Monitor and document wound healing progress and communicate changes to physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
- Perform wound treatments and dressing changes in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.
- Lead facility-wide skin integrity and pressure injury prevention programs.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Educate residents, family members, and staff regarding wound prevention and treatment strategies.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify and address wound care trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
