Job summary

Dameron Hospital seeks a Wound Care Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care and to manage care for draining wounds, fistulas, pressure ulcers, skin breakdown and incontinence. You will coordinate with the interdisciplinary team on wound status and discharge barriers.

The role includes reporting performance data for quality management and supporting improvement initiatives. Strong English communication and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current RN license in state and license renewal according to State Board of Nursing standards.
  • Wound care certification preferred.
  • Must read, write and speak English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills with minimal guidance.

Job description

The Wound Care Nurse provides direct and indirect patient care and is responsible for the implementation and management of care for draining wounds, fistulas, pressure ulcers, skin breakdown and incontinence. Duties also include the assimilation and reporting of performance data and productivity statistics for quality management. The Wound Care Nurse will coordinate communication with the interdisciplinary team on patient wound status and barriers to discharge.

Qualifications
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Must hold a current RN state license and must maintain license renewal in accordance with the standards of the State Board of Nursing
  • Certification in wound care preferred
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English, as well as possess good verbal and written communications skills
  • Basic computer skills with minimal guidance
