Job summary

FlexStaff is seeking a Registered Nurse to perform age-specific nursing care using the nursing process. You will assess physiologic and psychosocial health, plan and coordinate care with physicians and the health team, and supervise care activities on the unit.

Leadership and clinical judgment are used to direct and delegate tasks while ensuring patient safety. The role requires documenting care, participating in discharge planning, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Associate’s Degree in Nursing, required. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State and/or Connecticut, required.
• BLS required, plus specialized certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient’s physiologic health status.
• Assesses patient’s psychosocial health status.
• Identifies patient outcome and develops individualized goals.
• Formulates plan of care and establishes priorities to achieve outcomes.
• Implements the plan of care and monitors safety, documentation, and patient responses.
• Evaluates care provided for patient outcomes and documents results.
• Collaborates with physicians and health team members in planning and carrying out treatment.
• Performs Decubitus Care (grade I-IV) and skin care procedures.
• Administers medications safely and correctly and educates patients about drugs and interactions.
• Participates in patient and family education and discharge planning.

Education

Associate’s Degree in Nursing

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Registered Professional Nurse license (NY/CT)
