*Responsibilities*

The RN Procedural Periop in our Urology Clinic is responsible for providing high-quality, skilled nursing services to assist patients in achieving optimal health, functional health status, and safe passage during invasive or interventional procedures across episodic or series visits. All patients have unique needs, ranging from health to illness, with more compromised patients requiring more complex care. The nurse must be proficient in multiple dimensions of nursing practice, demonstrating technical expertise in perioperative, PACU, and procedural areas to support patient care during episodic visits involving interventions and procedures.

A key goal of nursing is to support patients in achieving an optimal level of wellness as defined by them. This involves skilled assessment, triage, education, collaboration, and coordination of healthcare and community resources. The RN Procedural Periop helps patients/families, staff, and systems to achieve high-quality, evidence-based, cost-effective, and patient-centered outcomes.

Nursing care in interventional/procedural areas reflects the nursing process through the integration of knowledge, skills, experience, and attitudes to meet patient and family needs.

*Qualifications*

Education/Work Experience Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing
• Prefer a minimum of 1 year experience in cardiology specialty
• Prefer candidates with certification in related areas, such as Cardiovascular

Job Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong patient assessment skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team setting, current knowledge of electronic medical records.

Licensure/Certification

• Current licensure by the Washington State Board of Nursing
• CPR certification (every two years)
• ACLS
• PALS (depending on location)
