Job summary

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking an RN Unit Supervisor for the Overflow Unit. This Full Time, Day role includes a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

The unit handles diverse med/surg/telemetry patients with conditions such as pulmonary, diabetes, and renal. Responsibilities include leading shift operations, coaching staff, and ensuring quality and patient safety.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
• BSN required; Associate Degree RNs must be within 1 year of completing BSN.
• BLS certification by American Heart Association; completion of Charge Nurse and RN Unit Supervisor workshop within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily shift operations and conduct effective huddles to align priorities.
• Ensure safety and environmental rounding and RN rounding on areas of responsibility.
• Mentor and coach clinical staff, promote a culture of care and teamwork.
• Monitor core measures and performance indicators to drive unit improvements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient discharge planning and throughput.
