The RN Unit Manager leads daily clinical operations on a short-term/ventilator unit in a skilled nursing setting, ensuring high-quality, compliant care. You will supervise RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, coordinate care planning, and support resident needs with strong teamwork and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Must be a currently licensed RN in good standing with the state board of nursing.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing leadership experience in acute or short-term care.
• Ability to lead, coordinate interdisciplinary care, and supervise staff.
• Must be able to take call on a rotation.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) on the short-term/ventilator unit.
• Coordinate resident care planning and MDS assessments.
• Monitor patient conditions and ensure care plan compliance.
• Provide clinical guidance and support to staff.
• Conduct daily rounds and review documentation and records.
• Manage admissions, transfers, and discharges for ventilator/short-term residents.
• Communicate with physicians, families, and the care team.
• Monitor infection control and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure adequate staffing and assist with scheduling.
• Provide orientation and ongoing staff education.
