Job summary

MediLodge of Lansing is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator/Unit Manager RN to lead the center's Staff Development Program. You will plan, implement, and evaluate training, coordinate orientation, and support clinical staff to ensure high-quality resident care.

The role requires RN licensure, CPR certification, and prior LTC experience. On-site duties include collaboration with the Director of Nursing and budget oversight to maintain compliant, effective staff development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with a BSN preferred.
• Three years nursing experience, with one year in LTC.
• Experience as an instructor preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Knowledge of compliance training standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure employees receive compliance training and education.
• Maintain training documentation per regulations.
• Monitor employee performance and address compliance issues.
• Develop and conduct orientation for new and contract staff.
• Manage Employee Health program.
• Provide hands-on clinical orientation to licensed and unlicensed staff.
• Coordinate CPR and new-employee training sessions.
• Assess resident needs to tailor training programs.
• Work with DNS to ensure clinical competency and annual assessments.
• Assist in department budget and control expenditures.
• Oversee OSHA/Risk Management documentation.
• Ensure curriculum meets state/federal/accreditation standards.
• Plan and run required in-service programs.
• Coordinate CNAs certification/training.
