Job summary

MediLodge in Lansing, MI is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator/Unit Manager RN to lead the center’s Staff Development Program. The role includes clinical tasks, orientation, and ensuring training meets regulatory standards.

The RN must have three years of nursing experience, including in long-term care, with budget awareness and collaboration with the Director of Nursing. A BS is preferred and CPR certification may be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of learning principles and training techniques.
• Ability to design and conduct training programs.
• Experience developing staff development curricula.
• Ability to communicate with residents, families, and staff at all levels.
• Understanding of state/federal accreditation requirements.
• Proficiency with basic computer tools.

Responsibilities

• Assess training needs and plan staff development programs.
• Coordinate and deliver orientation for new, rehired, and contract staff.
• Monitor training documentation for compliance with state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
• Manage Employee Health program and OSHA/Risk Management activities.
• Conduct CPR and other required trainings for licensed and unlicensed personnel.
• Evaluate competency and performance of nursing staff through observed skills.
