Job summary

Elderwood is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Unit Manager to provide clinical and operational leadership for one of our nursing units at Elderwood at Cheektowaga, NY. This visible role partners with the DON, ADON, and interdisciplinary team to strengthen nursing practice and resident outcomes.

Lead a unit with 24‑hour oversight, support CNAs, and drive quality care in a full‑time schedule. RN licensure in NY and strong leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license - New York State.
• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Long-Term Care setting.
• Prior leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Unit Manager, Supervisor) required.
• Experience working with CNA teams and developing newer staff.
• Strong ability to lead, coach, and hold staff accountable.
• Experience with dementia population strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24‑hour oversight of the assigned nursing unit and supervise nursing staff.
• Oversee development, implementation, and evaluation of resident care plans; monitor clinical indicators.
• Ensure high standards in documentation, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as a key contact for families and providers; communicate changes clearly and professionally.
• Manage daily staffing, call‑ins, scheduling; participate in hiring and staff development.
