Job summary

Ciena Healthcare is seeking an RN Unit Manager to lead the daily operations of an assigned nursing unit in Michigan. You will ensure safe, high-quality, resident-centered care and mentor nursing staff while fostering a collaborative environment for residents, families, and teammates.

The role includes supervisory responsibilities, staffing oversight, performance evaluations, and ensuring adherence to policies and regulations. A BSN is preferred, with RN licensure and CPR certification required.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in long-term care or post-acute setting.
• Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or management role preferred.
• Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of employment.
• Current CPR certification or CPR certification within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by RNs, LPNs/LVNs and CNAs/STNAs.
• Performs supervisory responsibilities in line with policies and laws.
• Interviews, hires and trains staff; plans and directs workflow.
• Prepares work assignments with attention to resident safety and staff abilities.
• Resolves employee concerns and manages staff scheduling and breaks.
• Monitors performance and administers disciplinary actions when needed.
