Job summary

Homewood Living Plum Creek is seeking an RN Unit Manager to provide clinical leadership for a skilled nursing unit within our Personal Care setting. This role oversees nursing staff, maintains high clinical standards, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support resident care on a 24-hour basis.

The position requires an RN license in the state, 2–4 years of supervisory experience in geriatric long-term care, and strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in the state providing nursing care.
• Two to four years' supervisory experience, preferably in geriatric long-term care.
• Compassion, understanding and empathy for older persons.
• Strong management, written and verbal communication, good judgment and coaching.
• Ability to react quickly and decisively in emergencies and in unexpected resident behavior.
• Understanding of delegation and motivational concepts; strong conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to communicate with residents, families, and staff at understandable level.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Nursing Assistants, Hospitality Aides and Team Leaders in resident care and evaluates performance.
• Monitors resident health, communicates findings to physicians, and coordinates care.
• Maintains accurate clinical records and documentation of observations and progress.
• Ensures confidentiality and privacy of resident information; follows policies and procedures.
• Fosters a collaborative team culture and participates in care planning and QA activities.
