About the Role

STGi is seeking a RN Unit Manager to provide services at our Georgia War Veterans Home. GWVH will be opening a new unit dedicated to Veterans with PTSD, TBI, behavioral disorders, and substance use issues. Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct nursing care to residents while supervising the unit nursing activities during your shift.

Essential Functions
  • Possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an RN or LPN/LVN in Georgia.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Provide age-appropriate care based on residents' needs.
  • Contribute to a supportive team environment.
  • Make independent decisions when necessary.
  • Communicate tactfully with staff, residents, families, and external agencies.
  • Be knowledgeable of nursing practices, laws, and regulations applicable to nursing facilities.
  • Demonstrate leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Plan, organize, and implement care programs and policies.
  • Display patience, tact, enthusiasm, and the ability to handle difficult residents.
  • Be open to adopting new nursing methods and principles.
  • Relate information about residents' conditions clearly.
  • Ensure safety and not pose health risks to others.
Required Skills
  • Work in various environments including offices, therapy rooms, and resident areas.
  • Move intermittently during work hours.
  • Handle frequent interruptions.
  • Interact with medical staff, residents, families, and visitors under all conditions.
  • Work beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Respond to emergency situations and callbacks.
  • Maintain alertness for resident safety.
  • Attend continuing education as required.
  • Be aware of potential hazards such as injuries, infections, and chemical exposure.
  • Assist with lifting and supporting residents.
  • Coordinate with residents and families for care planning.
Experience & Education
  • Minimum one year of experience in restorative care.
  • Training in rehabilitative and restorative therapies.
  • Nursing degree from an accredited institution or RN program graduation.
Additional Notes

Selected candidates will receive safety care training during orientation. This position is available for all shifts, both full-time and part-time, at the specified Milledgeville location.
