RN Unit Manager - Behavioral Health - All shifts

STGi is seeking a RN Unit Manager to provide services at our Georgia War Veterans Home. GWVH will be opening a new unit dedicated to Veterans with PTSD, TBI, behavioral disorders, and substance use issues. Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the unit nursing activities during the assigned shift.

Essential Functions

• Possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an RN or LPN/LVN in Georgia.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of residents.
• Support and contribute to teamwork and leadership.
• Make independent decisions when necessary.
• Communicate tactfully with personnel, residents, families, visitors, and agencies.
• Be knowledgeable of nursing practices, laws, and regulations.
• Demonstrate leadership and supervisory skills.
• Plan, organize, and implement programs and policies for quality care.
• Show patience, tact, enthusiasm, and willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Seek out and incorporate new nursing methods and principles.
• Relate information concerning residents' conditions effectively.
• Ensure safety and not pose a health or safety threat to others.

Required Skills

• Work in various settings including office, therapy, and resident rooms.
• Move intermittently and handle interruptions.
• Communicate effectively with medical staff, residents, and visitors.
• Work beyond normal hours and be available for emergencies.
• Attend continuing education as required.
• Handle potential hazards and exposure to infectious diseases and chemicals.
• Support resident safety through constant alertness.

Required Experience and Education

• Minimum one year of experience in restorative care.
• Training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices.
• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university or graduate of an approved RN program.

This position is located at 2249 Vinson Highway SE, Milledgeville, GA. All shifts are available for full-time and part-time roles. Selected candidates will receive safety care training during orientation.
