Job summary

Acacia Care Rehab and Nursing Center in West Orange, NJ is seeking an experienced RN Unit Manager to lead the nursing team and partner with DON/ADON to ensure high-quality resident care.

You will supervise staff, manage staffing and overtime, participate in care planning and QA initiatives, and support recruitment. This full-time role offers competitive pay and benefits in a resident-centered setting.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in New Jersey.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing facility, or similar setting (preferred).
• Minimum 6 months’ experience in rehabilitative/restorative nursing practices.
• Previous long-term care experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with overseeing daily nursing operations with the DON and ADON.
• Supervise professional and non-professional staff to ensure quality care.
• Manage unit staffing to maintain proper coverage and minimize overtime/agency use.
• Address resident and family concerns with professionalism and compassion.
• Provide coaching, progressive counseling, and disciplinary action as needed.
• Participate in care planning, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Oversee MDS completion and quality assurance initiatives.
• Teach and evaluate nursing skills to support staff development.
• Assist with recruitment and hiring of nursing personnel.
• Attend committee meetings and contribute to facility-wide goals.
• Step into nursing responsibilities on weekends/holidays as needed.

About the Role

Acacia Care Rehab and Nursing Center is seeking a compassionate and experienced RN Unit Manager to join our leadership team. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to ensure the highest standards of care for our residents.
