The Avenue at North Ridgeville is a Post-Hospital Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Care Facility that offers a distinctive environment, including hotel-like accommodations and private suites. Qualifications:
- Genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
- Ability to make sound judgments and decisions.
- Physically fit, mentally and emotionally stable.
- Familiarity with the facility's policies and procedures.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Understand that 100% occupancy is crucial to our success.
- Conduct rounds across all departments and coordinate with nursing staff.
- Report any issues encountered during rounds to the Administrative Office.
- Notify the Administrative Office of changes in residents' conditions.
- Collaborate with other department heads and consultants as needed.
- Supervise nursing personnel across all shifts.
- Assist with staff education, meetings, and orientation.
- Review nursing care plans regularly.
- Follow specific duties outlined by the Director on designated days or projects.
- Provide activity reports to the Director of Nursing in their absence.
- Assist the Director of Nursing in their responsibilities as instructed.
- Conduct monthly surveys on resident care status and prepare reports.
- Handle nursing issues when the Director of Nursing is unavailable.
- Follow up on recommendations from consulting pharmacists.
- Fill in on the floor as needed during staffing shortages or facility issues.
- Recognize staff achievements and address performance issues; participate in annual evaluations.
- Perform staff appraisals, issue warnings for performance deficiencies, and assess educational needs.
- Schedule and deliver in-service training to meet staff development needs.
- Manage Utilization Review activities, including assessing residents' levels of care according to Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
- Review certifications for new admissions and monitor ongoing care requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation of care to maintain skilled level of care.
- Update resident care levels daily as needed.
