Job description

The Nurse Unit Manager supervises CNA and staff nurses on the unit and oversees all patient care.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program
• Current Tennessee Licensed Nurse
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with geriatric patients
• Exhibits leadership skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with the interdisciplinary care team to assure accurate patient assessment and development/revision of individualized plans of care.
• Maintain open and ongoing communication with patients and families, providing opportunities and encouragement to participate in decision making.
• Ensure appropriate nursing care is provided.
• Assist with medications and treatments.
• Supervise and coach nurses and other nursing staff.
• Participate in various meetings daily and monthly.
• Be on call when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
