Job summary

Millington Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to fill a management role in a skilled nursing facility. The RN Unit Manager supports the Director of Nursing with delivery of high-quality care while promoting positive patient and family satisfaction during a designated shift.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Tennessee.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• In-depth knowledge of nursing care methods and health and safety guidelines.
• Responsible and compassionate with outstanding organizational and communication skills.
• Experience supervising GNAs and LPNs in a nursing home setting.

Responsibilities

• Observe and monitor residents’ health and assess their needs to provide quality care.
• Collaborate with physicians to create individual care plans and assist them during required operations or procedures.
• Maintain complete healthcare records and reports including PCC being utilized according to best practices.
• Supervise, manage, and assist in training GNAs and LPNs on staff.
• Perform routine procedures as needed, including administering medication and injections, and provide emergency medical care when necessary.
• Collaborates with DON in maintaining adequate staffing coverage.
• Assess work performance of nursing staff while on duty ensuring timeliness in services to our patients/residents.
• Maintain security of the facility, creating an environment that is respectful, team-oriented, and responsive to the needs of our staff, patients, and their families.
• Monitoring nursing care to reduce hospitalizations and ensure positive outcomes.
• Reviews prospective Admissions in relation to existing nursing capabilities and ensures readiness to treat.
• Ensure that patient’s attending physician and family or responsible party are promptly notified of any significant change in the patient health condition.
• Investigates patient/family complaints and takes appropriate actions to bring to resolution.

Position Summary

The RN Unit Manager serves as a clinical and operational liaison between units and the DON, ADON, medical director, and other nursing staff. He/she is responsible for the clinical operations of the Nursing Units including ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, practice standards and regulations. This is primarily Monday-Friday position, but with rotating Manager on duty and/or On-Call.
