Job summary

The role supervises nursing staff, coordinates with care teams, and enforces hospital policies while promoting a positive work environment and professional growth. The RN Charge will supervise staff, coordinate patient care, monitor safety and infection control, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience required.
• Active RN licensure in applicable state.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees nursing and support staff, delegating tasks to appropriate personnel.
• Evaluates staff performance, providing coaching to maintain high standards.
• Leads assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow.
• Ensures clear communication among physicians, patients, families, and departments.
• Manages bed assignments and resource utilization within the unit.
• Performs rounds to assess care delivery and patient satisfaction.
• Monitors adherence to safety, infection control, and policies.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and audits.
• Ensures availability and proper use of medical supplies while controlling costs.
• Fosters ongoing education and professional development for staff.
• Leads infection prevention efforts and emergency responses as needed.
