Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a skilled nurse to deliver high‑quality patient care in a busy specialty unit. Under department leadership, you will promote safety, drive efficiency, and contribute to staff development and colleagues' satisfaction.

Requirements: 18 months of nursing experience, BSN required; a master's degree is preferred if not nursing, and BLS within 90 days. Behavioral Health and Emergency Care training timelines apply; certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Behavioral Health - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
  • Emergency Care - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire.
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire.
  • Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.

Overview:

Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty. Behavioral Health - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire. Emergency Care - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire. BLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital , located in Norfolk, VA, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.
