Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, seeks a Nurse (RN) Unit Coordinator for the Step-Down Unit. This full-time, weekend-day shift offers a sign-on bonus up to $15,000 and relocation packages for qualified candidates.

The unit focuses on cardiac, renal, vascular, and pulmonary care with opportunities to advance toward ICU or ED tracks. Minimum 18 months nursing experience is required; BSN is required with master’s preferred if the graduate degree is not in nursing.

Shift: Full Time, Permanent Weekend Day shift (7a-7p) Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon.

Unit Overview:

Join the nursing team that is enjoying a beautiful,brand new24 bedMedicine unitwith new computers in every room and charting stations in hallways with windows to visualize patients! Blood pressure machines that talk with EPIC as RealTime Documentation. Patient population iscardiac, cardiac prep, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-Prep,and diverse wound care. Great unit to make your way into ICU or the ED!

Overview

Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty.
BLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
