Job summary

CP01 Carilion Medical Center in Roanoke is hiring a full-time RN for the Resource Pool, focusing on transitional care unit support. Responsibilities include assessing and implementing care strategies for patients of all ages, while collaborating with healthcare teams.

Candidates must have a nursing degree, current Virginia RN license, and life support certification. The role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as computer proficiency with electronic medical records.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of professional nursing of an accredited college or approved program eligible for VA licensure.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain licensure.
• Life support: AHA BLS-HCP required; may need to obtain/maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP depending on the unit.
• Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for optimum outcomes.
• Complete age-specific admission and ongoing assessments, document findings.
• Accurately administer and document treatments and medications via electronic systems.
• Identify patient/family educational needs, incorporate them into the care plan.
• Contribute to Carilion Clinic's performance improvement activities.
• Act as a patient advocate, protect patient rights, and provide support.
• Manage resources, establish priorities, and modify the environment.
• Actively participate in orientation of new employees and provide feedback.
