Qualifications

• Graduate of school of professional nursing or approved program eligible to sit for licensure.
• Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible. (VA RN licensure)
• AHA BLS-HCP required; may need to obtain/maintain ACLS, PALS based on unit.
• Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care for patients of all ages in the Transitional Care Unit.
• Coordinate and provide nursing care with delegation and critical thinking.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate age-specific care plans and interdisciplinary plans of care.
• Educate patients and families; act as patient advocate and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Role model clinical practice, manage resources, and orient new staff.
