Job summary

Dayton Physicians Network is seeking an RN to perform telephone triage for ambulatory care using approved protocols. The role emphasizes accurate documentation in the EHR and collaboration with physicians to coordinate patient care.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, onsite at our Englewood location with Centerville coverage as needed. Strong communication and clinical judgment are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state(s) of practice.
• Three or more years of RN experience in a critical care setting (ICU, ED).
• Current CPR certification or obtained within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone assessments using established triage protocols and nursing judgment.
• Prioritize calls with critical labs, urgent clinical questions, and provider-directed concerns.
• Provide clear recommendations, self-care advice, and scheduling guidance for care.
• Document patient interactions thoroughly in the EHR.
• Collaborate with physicians and care team to ensure continuity of care.
• Educate patients regarding symptoms, medications, orders and follow-up steps.
• Monitor and manage incoming messages and calls within triage timelines.
• Identify red-flag symptoms and refer to immediate provider involvement when needed.
• Participate in quality improvement to support safety, access and satisfaction.
