Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking an RN for Telemetry in a Cardiac Telemetry unit for a 20-week assignment. Shift is Day, 12 hours per shift, with holiday and every-other-weekend coverage. Requires active RN license, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Travel nursing experience is preferred; charge experience is a plus.

Unit census averages 25 patients with 22 rooms and 30 beds. Position involves telemetry monitoring and interdisciplinary support to manage cardiac issues across adult to geriatric patients.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Active state RN license required.
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Must have telemetry nursing experience; travel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work 12-hour day shifts on a Cardiac Telemetry unit.
• Rotate to other units as needed and cover holidays; weekend work every other weekend.
• Manage cardiac drips and interpret dysrhythmias; on-call duty not required.
• Provide patient care for adults to geriatrics with telemetry monitoring.

Description:

Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry.

Shift hours are from 07:00 to 19:30.Required to work holidays as scheduled.Weekend work is required every other weekend.Floating to other units within the specialty may be required.On-call duty is not required.

The daily patient census averages 25.The unit has 22 rooms and 30 beds.The patient age range includes adults to geriatrics.Common patient diagnoses include telemetry patients with cardiac issues, strokes, TIA, and stable cardiac catheterization patients.

Special procedures include remote telemetry monitoring.Specialty drips include Cardizem (non-titratable), Amiodarone, Heparin, Protonix, and Lasix.Special equipment includes portable phones and IV pumps.

Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy.Candidates must manage cardiac drips and be comfortable interpreting dysrhythmias.Additional skills required include central line care, oxygen administration, and IV management.
