Job summary

Stormont Vail Health is seeking a Surgical Technology Apprenticeship Program Coordinator (RN) to lead, develop, and evaluate programs that educate surgical staff and students.

The role requires a BSN, RN licensure in KS, and several years of surgical/procedural experience with teaching or training responsibilities. Hybrid work, travel about 10%, and collaboration with Surgical Services are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required.
• MSN degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years direct care in a surgical/procedural setting.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience.
• Minimum 1 year Surgical Technologist or specimen processing experience.
• Experience precepting or mentoring clinical staff.
• Experience developing or delivering training preferred.
• EPIC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, teaches, and evaluates courses within the Surgical Technology Apprenticeship Program, including didactic, skills lab, and clinical experiences.
• Manages instructor resources, equipment, and inventory for the program and monitors student progress.
• Collaborates with Surgical Services to provide clinical experience to students and evaluate performance.
• Advertises, recruits, screens, interviews, and selects candidates for the program and coordinates transition to Surgical Services.
• Monitors compliance with apprenticeship requirements and coordinates with the apprenticeship intermediary.
• Documents and supports grant applications and program funding.
