Job summary

Huron-Regional-Medical-Center in Huron, SD is seeking a Surgical Technologist apprentice to join the perioperative team. You will assist the physician with instrumentation, supplies and equipment under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or surgical technician.

This apprenticeship requires enrollment in or graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program and participation in HRMC’s apprenticeship agreement, with onboarding possibly as a temporary employee.

Description

The Surgical Technologist apprentice functions as a member of the perioperative team assisting the physician with the instrumentation, supplies and equipment needed to perform the surgical procedure. S/he works under the direct supervision of a registered nurse/surgical technician and assists with organization and management of the departmental equipment, supplies, and instrumentation.

Requirements

Committed to completing the internal Surgical Technician on-the-job training program or enrolled in or graduated from an accredited Surgical Technologist program. May onboard at HRMC as a temporary employee if appropriate. Apprentice will enroll into the Department of Labor & Regulation and HRMC’s apprenticeship agreement and complete all required steps.
