Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Surgical Stepdown unit. This night-shift, full-time role covers 36 hours per week and includes a $20,000 sign-on bonus for experienced RNs.

You will provide patient care using the nursing process while coordinating with other departments. Qualified candidates will have an ADN, Nursing Diploma, or BSN, Missouri (or compact) RN licensure, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the listed degrees.
• Must hold and maintain a current RN license in Missouri or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain patient rights and confidentiality.
• Evaluates care effectiveness and coordinates patient care with other departments.

Qualifications

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure

Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience

Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: BSN preferred
• Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
