Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical-Surgical unit. This 36-hour-per-week Day shift role utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care, coordinates with other departments, and upholds Mercy’s mission and service standards.

Qualified candidates will have an approved nursing degree (ASN, Diploma, or BSN) and a Missouri RN license (or compact license). BLS is required, and prior hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing

• Nursing Diploma

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience:Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications

• Required:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education:BSN preferred

• Licensure:Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred

• Experience:Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly

• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift

• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
