Job summary

Mercy is seeking an RN for the Surgical & Orthopedic Care Unit at Mercy Hospital Washington. This part-time role (24 hours per week) covers night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

You will provide direct patient care using the nursing process and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. The unit offers a fast-paced environment with a 30-bed capacity, focused on orthopedic and general surgical care, with emphasis on patient safety, rights, and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Active RN license (state-specific or compact).
• ACLS certification required.
• BLS certification required (or within 30 days of hire).
• Regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Prolonged standing/walking throughout shift.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
