Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)

The G52/G53/G54 Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) provides top-quality patient care to patients with acute perioperative management needs or with acute post-operative complications.

Work Schedule: Day/night rotation from 7:00AM - 7:30PM or 7:00PM - 7:30AM.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients' conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• One-year of current acute care RN experience; military RN experience considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical Requirements:

• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.
• Medium Work: exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.

• Follows Standard Precautions using PPE as required.
