Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced RN for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit, a 43-bed high-acuity unit specializing in acute and chronic digestive surgical care, with bariatric certification and active collaboration with surgical residents.

The role covers post-operative care, wound/ostomy management, tracheostomy care, and close teamwork with surgeons and residents. External applicants may qualify for a $10,000 sign-on bonus with a 3-year commitment and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Illinois with active license
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
• Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintains up-to-date documentation of nursing care for the healthcare team.
• Completes initial patient assessment and develops a plan of care.
• Implements and adjusts care plans based on patient needs.
• Ensures patient and employee safety by reporting hazards.
• Provides post-operative care for complex surgical patients.
• Cares for tracheostomies and complex wounds including wound vacs and ostomies.
