Job summary

Penrose - St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs is seeking a Registered Nurse to facilitate, communicate, and collaborate with the healthcare team and patient/family to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients.

You will promote patient health, safety, and well-being through the nursing process, abiding by standards and the State Nurse Practice Act, and demonstrating accountability for relationship-based care within a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma, or by endorsement.
• RN License in state of employment.
• Physical requirements: Medium work, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, up to 20 lbs frequently, up to 10 lbs constantly.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
• Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate competency in therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
• Maintain patient charts and records; document status, interventions, and outcomes; use IT to communicate and support decision-making.
• Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect health, safety, and rights of each patient.
• Provide patient/family education through assessment of learning readiness and teaching effectiveness.
