Job summary

Dignity Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Mercy Medical Center Redding in California. This role provides direct patient care, performs assessments, and participates in perioperative services in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, follow the nursing process, document accurately, and support case preparation and case start times. California RN licensure and BLS/ACLS are required.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Nursing with recent OR/CSOR experience within the last two years.
  • Two years of recent circulating experience in an outpatient surgery center.
  • BSN and scrubbing and circulating experience, upon hire.
  • Current CA RN license; BLS CPR; ACLS.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process for planning and delivering direct and indirect patient care.
  • Multi-tasks, organizes, and prioritizes patient care to achieve efficient outcomes.
  • Performs case preparation and intra-operative case execution for department needs.
  • Anticipates case needs to support timely, accurate preparation of instruments and supplies.
  • Documents on unit and patient records timely and concisely.
  • Initiates and investigates repairs or equipment gaps to maintain workflow.

  • Utilizes the nursing process for the planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care
  • Multi-tasks, organizes, and prioritizes patient care utilizing an efficient, concise and goal outcome process
  • Performs case preparation and intra-operative case execution for department needs
  • Anticipates preparation of cases and needs to enhance the efficiency of the team effort, i.e. punctual case start times, accurate and timely preparation of cases (instruments, supplies and equipment) and eliminates predictable case delays
  • Performs documentation on unit and patient records that is timely, accurate and concise
  • Initiates and investigates needed repairs, missing equipment, supplies and other pertinent areas and follows through to ensure resolution
Job Requirements
Required
  • Associates Other Nursing and One year OR and/or CSOR experience within the last two years in acute care hospital , upon hire or
  • 2 years recent circulating experience in outpatient surgery center. and
  • If it can be supported operationally, training may be offered to applicants having 2 years recent acute care experience in Critical Care/ER. and
  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing and Scrubbing and circulating experience, upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire
Preferred
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room, upon hire and
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course, upon hire
