Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Supervisory RN for MedSurg/Tele/SD at 9C Med Tele. This night shift role oversees patient care, coordinates nursing interventions, and supports staff performance on a busy unit.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license with acute care experience and BLS certification, and is prepared to mentor licensed nurses and technicians in evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice.
• Required – 1 year of relevant RN experience or 2 years as LPN in acute care.
• BLS certification required by the American Heart Association.
• Preferred – Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Shift is Nights, 6:45pm–7:15am.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications, starts IVs, and discharges patients with the healthcare team.
• Organizes, plans, and supervises coordinated patient care within the unit.
• Supervises and evaluates assigned nursing staff and technicians.
• Promotes evidence-based nursing practice and protocols.
• Collaborates with leadership to resolve staffing and operational issues.
• Ensures staffing, supplies, and scheduling support patient care.
