Qualifications

• RN licensure in state of practice and BLS required.
• Education: RN diploma required; higher nursing degree preferred.
• Experience: 1 year as RN; 2 years as LPN in acute care as alternative.
• KSAs: problem solving, communication, organization, and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications, starts IVs, and discharges patients with the healthcare team.
• Organizes, plans, and supervises patient care within the unit.
• Supervises and evaluates assigned nursing staff and technicians.
• Promotes evidence-based nursing protocols and clinical practice guidelines.
• Manages staffing, scheduling, and resource availability on the unit.
