Job summary
The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is seeking a Registered Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse for the Georgia Regional Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility in Decatur, GA. This role supports patients with developmental disabilities requiring skilled nursing care and oversees nursing staff on assigned units.
Qualifications include a Georgia RN license and experience with long‑term care; BSN preferred.
Qualifications
- Current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Experience with patients with G/J tubes, tracheostomies, and seizure disorders.
- Experience in long‑term care or geriatric nursing.
- Experience with individuals with mental health and/or developmental disabilities preferred.
- Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and current Georgia RN license or multistate license.
- Four years of professional nursing experience, including two in a lead/ supervisory role; or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Supervises, guides, and instructs subordinate staff on assignments.
- Plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for assigned unit/shift.
- Ensures staff assess patient health problems and needs.
- Develops and maintains nursing care plans and medical records.
- Oversees nursing care quality and adherence to standards and regulations.
- Advises patients on health maintenance and treatment planning.
- May provide case management services.
- Coordinates staffing and daily nursing operations for the shift/unit.
