Job summary

UF Health in Florida seeks a Nursing Supervisor to oversee bed requests and patient progression across the care continuum. You will collaborate with medical directors, attendings, nurses and support services to optimize throughput and ensure cost-effective bed placement.

The role requires a BSN or higher, Florida RN license with BLS and ACLS in ICU/ED. Strong leadership, communication and policy knowledge are essential for continuous 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
• BSN or higher degree is preferred.
• Master of Science in Nursing is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership and management abilities.
• Knowledge of JCAHO/AHCA standards and the Florida Nurse Practice Act.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates conflict resolution and negotiation techniques.
• RN license in Florida with BLS; ACLS for ICU/ED; certification within two years where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Manage bed requests and facilitate patient progression through the continuum of care.
• Work directly with medical directors, attendings, nurses and ancillary services.
• Monitor unit staffing and adjust inpatient bed assignments 24/7 to optimize throughput.
• Provide administrative oversight for patient, physician and nursing concerns.
• Exhibit leadership behaviors including communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and decision making.
