Job summary

The Cardiac Cath Lab at UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham provides expert cardiac care in an outpatient setting utilizing cutting-edge technology with three fully equipped cath labs and two non-invasive labs.

We offer a range of diagnostic and interventional procedures, including heart catheterization and PCI, plus IVUS/OCT imaging and FFR/iFR functional assessments. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring high-quality patient care in

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date; AHA/ARC accepted.
• Active RN license with the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program.
• 1 year of cumulative nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assign, direct, educate and monitor nursing and support staff during shift.
• Develop and distribute patient care assignments ensuring appropriate care.
• Evaluate effectiveness of patient care and outcomes.
• Respond to complaints about patient care through established channels.
• Input may be provided for hiring, training, and staff development.

The Cardiac Cath Lab at UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham provides expert cardiac care in an outpatient setting utilizing cutting-edge technology with three fully equipped cath labs and two non-invasive labs. We offer a range of diagnostic and interventional procedures, including procedures like heart catheterization and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), as well as advanced imaging techniques such as intravascular ultrasound (IVUS, OCT) and functional assessments (FFR/iFR). Job Description

Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in assigned area.

• Assign, direct, educate and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shift. Contribute to or perform performance evaluations of staff.
• Assess daily patient care needs and develop and distribute patient care assignments, ensuring that population appropriate patient care is given.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
• Respond to complaints about patient care and manage through established channels.
• May provide input for hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure/certification required.
• 1 (one) year of cumulative job specific experience required.
