• Serves as liaison between staff and other areas within the facility and acts as an advisor to other disciplines.
• Assesses needs for personnel, supplies, equipment, and facilities for budget planning.
• Participates in clinical conferences, workshops and related forums.
• Responds to patient-related calls and orders prescriptions as directed by physicians within required timelines.
• Supervises and participates in general nursing care activities.
• Maintains records, prepares reports and correspondence related to the work.
• Develops and evaluates assigned tasks for different areas.
• Coordinates staff by scheduling, setting priorities and directing work of subordinates.
• Evaluates employee performance through review of work and techniques.
• Identifies staff development needs and ensures training is obtained.
• Assesses patient needs and initiates nursing care plans.
