Job description

Cheshire House is a 75-bed, family-owned skilled nursing facility in Waterbury, Connecticut specializing in short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. We are currently hiring a Registered Nurse Supervisor. Come join our team!

Saturday/Sunday 7am-7pm Baylor Position

RN Supervisor Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse supervisor will oversee day-to-day nursing activities in the facility, including developing work assignments, ensuring sufficient staffing and maintaining good working rapport.

RN Supervisor Responsibilities:

  1. Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
  2. Ensure that direct nursing care is provided by a licensed nurse, a certified nursing assistant, and/or a nurse aide trainee qualified to perform the procedure.
  3. Ensure that all RNs and LPNs on your shift comply with written procedures for the administration, storage, and control of medications and supplies.
  4. Provide leadership training that includes the administrative and supervisory principles essential for your Charge Nurses.
  5. Ensure that nursing service personnel follow established infection control procedures when isolation precautions become necessary.

RN Supervisor Requirements:

  1. Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university and be a graduate of a Connecticut approved RN program.
  2. Must possess a current certification as a Nurses Aide.
  3. Be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
  4. Be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 40 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 4 feet.
