Qualifications

This is professional nurse work at the second-line supervisory level in a County nursing care facility. The role involves supervising first-line professional and technical nursing and resident care personnel across multiple units during an assigned shift.

Positions Available

FT 3-11 Cedarbrook Fountain Hill

Add $4.00 extra/hr 3-11

Weekend Differential - Add $1.50/hour

Typical Examples Of Work
  1. Identify staffing needs and assess staffing patterns, assign nursing staff to units, and reassign as needed due to vacancies or absences.
  2. Consult with Unit Managers/Lead Nurses regarding residents' medical and social status and care issues.
  3. Evaluate nursing staff strengths and weaknesses, and assist in performance evaluations.
  4. Conduct unit rounds to observe quality of care, and assist staff in difficult situations.
  5. Supervise and support Unit Managers/Lead Nurses and assist them in managing their teams.
  6. Evaluate residents' conditions, liaise with physicians, and ensure orders are carried out.
  7. Work with ancillary departments to meet resident needs and facility goals.
  8. Participate in meetings, special projects, and committees as assigned.
  9. Perform related duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and standards.
  • Knowledge of nursing methods and documentation techniques.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for resident care and staffing ratios.
  • Basic supervisory skills and ability to establish effective relationships.
  • Ability to plan, assign, and review work of nursing personnel.
  • Ability to instruct and advise staff.
Acceptable Experience & Training
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school.
  • Valid RN license in PA.
  • Three to five years of professional nursing experience, including at least one year in a supervisory role.
  • Or equivalent combination of training and experience.
