Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore is seeking a Clinical Nurse for the USC Staffing program. This RN will provide safe, evidence-based, patient- and family-centered care across UMMS inpatient, procedural, surgical, and ambulatory settings, with deployment based on unit needs and validated competencies.

The role requires an active Maryland RN license, BLS, and a Bachelor’s degree; ACLS/NICU etc as needed by unit.

Qualifications

• Current and active Maryland RN license or eligibility through compact.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP or unit-specific requirements may apply.
• Minimum of two years acute care nursing experience in the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care appropriate to patient population and acuity.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document care in EMR.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to promote safety and quality.
• Safely administer medications and use clinical equipment per policy.
• Supervise nursing care activities consistent with competency and policy.
• Maintain licensure, certifications, and ongoing professional development.
• Support unit operations and participate in quality and patient safety initiatives.
