St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA, is seeking a skilled nurse to oversee a patient group during a 36-hour workweek in a 11am–11pm shift.
The role supervises LPNs, unit assistants, techs and clerks, providing direct care through the nursing process and collaboration with the health care team.
Minimum qualifications include LA RN licensure, board certification, and BLS/ALS/PALS; one year ED experience preferred.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36
Work Shift: 11am-11pm
Responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame and to provide care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members. Supervises the activities of Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants, Monitor Technicians, Certified Nursing Assistance, Nurse Technicians, unit clerks and Paramedic technicians.
One year of acute Emergency Department experience preferred.
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
