Job summary

Eastside Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Bangor, ME seeks a Staff Development Coordinator. The role combines 24 hrs/wk as an SDC with 12 hrs/wk as a floor nurse to support training and clinical care.

You will design and oversee training programs, mentor staff, and ensure regulatory compliance while fostering continuous improvement in resident care. Advanced nursing credentials are preferred and excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid state nursing license required.
• Advanced degree or certification preferred.
• Experience in a nursing leadership role in long-term care preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in staff education.
• Strong communication, instructional and presentation skills.
• Commitment to resident-centered care and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and deliver orientation and ongoing training programs.
• Assess training needs, develop curriculum, and implement educational strategies.
• Collaborate with department heads to align training with regulations.
• Mentor, coach and support staff to improve performance.
• Coordinate orientation of all new employees for compliance.
• Maintain records of training activities and staff certifications.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement in nursing care.
